Chaat .. !!

Hello guys,

Chaat is one of my fav evening snack. people usually think it takes lot of time to prepare chaat but we can make it very quickly. usually chole/chana chaat is very famous in chaat varieties but today I am going to do chaat with mixed bean sprouts, this gives a healthy touch to the recipe. Click here to know how to make sprouts, Mixed bean sprouts. So lets see how I prepared simple and tasty chaat..








You need :

Mixed bean sprouts : 4 cups
Water: 4 cups
Jeera/cumin powder : 1 Tbsp
Chaat masala : 1 1/2 Tbsp
Amchur / dry mango Powder : 1 Tbsp
Dhania/ coriander powder: 1Tbsp
Onions: 1 Finely chopped
Tomatoes: 2 Finely chopped
Green chillies: 6-8 Finely chopped
Ginger-Garlic paste : 2 Tbsp
Fried peanuts: 1 small cup
Dry samosa: 2 , optional
Fresh cilantro : 1 small cup , finely chopped.
Lemon juice: 1 Tbsp
Oil : 4 Tbsp 
Salt: adjust to taste

Method:

1. In a pressure cooker add Mixed bean sprouts ,water and cook them for 3 whistles.

2. Take a wok , heat oil and add onions,green chillies and fry them. when the onions are almost done add ginger garlic paste.

3. when the onions turn golden color , add the tomatoes and fry them .

4. when the tomatoes are done , add the sprouts along with the water from the pressure cooker. You can add extra water upon your liking.








5. Cook the sprouts for 2 to 3 minutes and add salt, cumin powder,amchur powder,dhania powder, chaat masala . Now cook for few more minutes and let the masala's infuse into the chaat

6. As the chaat starts bubbling , add fresh cilantro and turn off the stove.

7. Take a Serving bowl , add the dry samosa and mash it into big pieces. On the dry samosa pour the chaat with a laddle. Now add some chopped onions, peanuts and lemon juice on top and serve hot with chilled drink/juice.You can also add sev on the chaat .

Tips :
1. If you use only chickpeas as the main base then it is the basic chaat , mixed beans chaat is just a variation of it . 

2. Adjust lemon juice and amchur powder , because amchur powder also gives sourness , so before adding lemon juice just taste the chaat and add accordingly.
